This is a meat grinder or mincer made in England by Spong around the 1950's.
Spong were founded in 1856 by James Osborn when he was just 16 years old. Spong and Co operated from 226 High Holborn, London, manufacturing hardware and wirework. The works were in Emerald Street, London, making economic household utensils or as they were then called, “domestic machinery”
The mincer has a nice gold 'Spong' Emblem on the top edge of the rim which has partially worn away. It comes complete with the grinding discs, handle and mounting clamp so is perfectly functional and great for meat or vegetables.
