Here we have issues of Newnes 'Practical Mechanics' magazines from the 1950s to 1960s. 'Practical Mechanics' was a British DIY magazine founded in 1933 and was published monthly until 1963.
They contain step by step instruction on various projects from clock making to model boat racing. Some would be far beyond the scope of the everyday individual but are incredibly detailed! They also have a huge breadth of advertising material and typefaces from a period when photography was very expensive and print ads had to grab the attention of the reader immediately.
The magazines have some wear and tear, mainly to the covers, but are all in readable condition. Individual issues are listed separately – please select your choice from the options shown.
