This vintage wooden thermometer was made in England. It has a brass hanger and is inscribed with numbers for the temperature gauge on the left and text that says 'blood heat', 'summer heat', 'temperate', 'freezing'.
Many thermometers were created in this style after the factories act of 1961 was passed, requiring each workroom to install and maintain a thermometer to monitor safe temperatures for workers.
