Vintage Gold Leaf Guard

This is a vintage tool - the standard gold leaf guard. It was made by Tottenham in London and consists of a soft suede/leather pad to place your leaf on in order to collect it on your brush correctly before application.

The paper piece that surrounds it is designed to block any breezes from interfering with the process although it doesn't stand up quite as well as it used to due to being folded in storage for a long time.
